Trace, classify, hand off

TGP2-class graphical programming is 401's block vocabulary in Trane dialect — trace output-backwards through the sheets.
Factory applications first: reading often starts with the standard app's documentation, then the site's customizations layered on it — know the baseline before judging the deviation.
Trane's own PID applications literature speaks 401's loop language — the vendor's tuning guidance is genuinely good reading.
Equipment-integral controls (chillers, RTUs) expose rich data with manufacturer-bounded writes — 408's OEM rule: read richly, command what's blessed. The equipment-maker identity runs deep: controls exist to serve Trane equipment first, and the applications are equipment-deep.
Commanding on modern Tracer BACnet points follows the standard priority machinery — the 306 diagnosis for the point that won't obey.
Uncertified but professional: navigate, trend, trace, classify (303), hand off; Comm3/4 estates are LP conversations.

Service boundary: factory applications and TGP2 edits belong with Trane-certified techs — your value is baseline-aware diagnosis (standard app vs. site custom) and the clean handoff.

LAB — the mixed-building drill

Identification: from the evidence pack (photos, screens, board labels), identify the Trane generation and architecture present.
Navigation: on the demo/simulated front end, locate a given point, its trend, its schedule, and its override state within a time box.
Reading: trace one supplied program excerpt against its sequence (expected/observed/delta per 303) and classify the seeded deviation: equipment vs programming vs design.
Handoff: write the service note a Trane-certified tech could act on immediately.

Pass: identification correct; navigation within the box; deviation classified with reasoning; handoff note professional.
