Energy strategies with dollar signs

Adaptive optimal start learns the building's recovery rate and computes each day's start time — landing setpoint exactly at occupancy (BAS-303's sequence, now self-tuning).
Demand limiting: utilities bill the highest interval (demand charges), so peaks cost disproportionately. Shed by prioritized, temporary relaxations — widen setpoints slightly, hold staging — never touching protection or ventilation-law floors.
Plant optimization coordinates chiller staging, tower approach, pump speeds and CHW reset as one system — including the condenser-water sweet spot where chiller savings exceed tower fan cost.
Heat recovery captures energy leaving the building (exhaust air, condenser heat) to offset incoming loads.
Foundation warning: advanced sequences fail without calibrated sensors and clean data (305/403) — and their value is proven with M&V (SPEC-EM). Your job: understand intent deeply enough to commission, trace and defend them.

LAB — trace a G36 system

On the simulator: trace a G36 AHU's trim-and-respond static reset — identify requests, importance, trim/respond rates from live behavior.
Create a rogue zone; watch it pin the reset; apply the ignore/cap remedy and document the energy difference.
Configure a demand-limit event: prioritized sheds, protection floors intact; verify via trends.

Pass: reset mechanics narrated correctly; rogue contained; shed order defensible.
