Figure-use rule
Each figure is an orientation and reasoning aid, not a project drawing. Learners must pair it with the current sequence, point list, wiring/piping documents, manufacturer instructions, and as-found evidence.
Normal-rule anchor
A panel is a coordinated system boundary, not simply a box for controllers.
Case overlay
The submittal location conflicts with field piping and the electrical drawing identifies a different power source.
Calculation/evidence callout: Reconcile documents, interfaces, point/device counts, and unresolved authority items.
Normal-rule anchor
Enclosure type cannot compensate for poor location, inaccessible service, unaddressed heat, or an unsafe work boundary.
Case overlay
The easiest wall is below piping, behind equipment service clearance, and warmer than the controller rating.
Calculation/evidence callout: Score environmental and access criteria, calculate clearance/heat assumptions from supplied data, and record exclusions.

Fasteners and supports must match substrate, load, environment, project, and manufacturer; habit is not structural evidence.

A heavy panel is proposed on hollow wall material with generic anchors and no backing information.
Calculation/evidence callout: Calculate supplied load per support and clearances; verify anchor/support quantities and safety factor criteria from the assigned design.

A convenient knockout can create water, noise, segregation, bend, or service defects.

Power and MS/TP enter through one crowded top opening beneath a leaking valve.
Calculation/evidence callout: Lay out entry zones and calculate cable/raceway quantities, bend space, wireway occupancy using supplied criteria, and spare capacity.

Panel installers verify and implement approved power design; they do not invent upstream protection, bonding, or transformer use.
Case overlay
The controller, actuators, relays, and accessories total near transformer capacity, and one load has high startup demand.
Calculation/evidence callout: Compute VA/current totals, spare margin, voltage-drop interface, and identify assumptions requiring designer/electrical confirmation.

Component fit is not functional layout, and relays belong in approved control interfaces; never place a RIB in one motor-power leg.

A relay blocks controller terminals and is shown on one leg of a three-phase starter rather than its control circuit.
Calculation/evidence callout: Calculate area/clearance and relay/contact/interface loading from supplied data; reconcile every command/proof terminal and state.

Each interface follows the approved architecture and exact device instructions; slogans do not replace design.
